mFirst day: The first day is your arrival day and we will spend it exploring the town of Mytilini including some spots of interest. We will have a nice traditional Greek meal at a beautiful sea-side taverna, have time to relax in your hotel and receive all the information/logistics about the trip.
  Second day ( Mytilini-
Sykamia 50 km): Our starting point is the castle of Mytilini where we take the bikes and start cycling towards to the north east part of the island. The road is busy    with traffic for the first 3-4 km. We pass the beautiful village of Panagiouda with it's picturesque small port and the tavernas around, the Pamfila village and we reach the coast- line of Thermi where we'll have a small break before the uphills of Mystegna.
The road changes drastically in short periods of time as we ride through century-old olive groves and come out to the horizon of the sea - this route takes approx. three hours (from the starting point) until we reach the famous monastery of Madamados, known for the icon of St.Michael. This will also be a resting point where we can enjoy a taste of traditional "loukoumades" with coffee. We then move on to the town of Sikaminia, a lovely tiny fisherman's village, made widely known through a book written by Stratos Myrivillis. This will be our overnight stay (hotel) where we will enjoy a wonderful seafood dinner by the port.

Third day (Sykamia-Petra 22 km): We wake up, eat breakfast and start rough-road cycling (approx. 15 km) from Sikaminia to Eftalou, riding along the seashore with a terrific view of Turkey's coast to the right of us. At Eftalou, we will stop to dip in the hot thermal springs, to swim in the sea and to relax on the all-pebble beach. We take the bikes on through Molyvos and then on to it's neighbouring village Petra, where we stay overnight (hotel). The evening will be spent having dinner in the cobblestone streets of Molyvos.

Fourth day (Petra-Antissa 27 km) : Today we'll have some difficult cycling until we reach Antissa due to the mountainous nature of the route to reach the next village. The view is incredible and rewarding after our challenging route. We pass Skoutaros village, Skalohori and Vatousa where we end the day at the beautiful square full of trees in Antissa, and the small tavernas nearby.
We stay overnight (at a hotel) here and we explore the village and the local delicious food.

Fifth day (Antissa-Sigri 20 km): Today we have a relaxing morning because we will cycle only 20 km on a (mostly) downhill road. Our scenery changes to a more arid, dry environment. Approx. half way through the route, we stop at the the monastery of Ypsilou, uniquely set at the top of a hill in a place curiously resembling another planet. (Note - Greek monasteries are usually built in places which bring the human soul closer to God).
We continue cycling until we arrive at a small fishermans village called Sigri, famous for the Petrified Forest
which is one of the most fascinating and rare monuments of geological heritage in the world.
Our plan is to visit the museum and the castle of Sigri and later to have dinner in a small taverna well known for it's fresh fish and seafood.

Sixth day (Sigri-Eressos, 19 km): Today we cycle on rough road along the coastline, all 19 kilometers of it. This area is usually windy and has attractracted many windsurfers and kitesurfers from around. We reach the upper village of Eressos, have a break and explore the cobblestone streets of the village. After, we continue on to Skala Eressos where we will have time to swim and suntan on the very long beach strip. The evening will be spent perusing the boardwalk with its shops and cafes, right along the beach. Our overnight stay will be here.

Seventh day (Eressos - Kalloni, 52 km): The previous two days were relaxed cycling days, but today will be one of the most arduous cycling days of the trip, on up and downhill roads to get to Kalloni. We pass Mesotopos village, known for it's cultural events and it's Women's Co-op Group where they make fantastic local sweets and preserves. We follow the road along the gulf of Kalloni, passing Parakila village where we reach soon after Kalloni, the second biggest town after Mytilini, famous for their salted sardines and the salt pans which attract an amazing variety of birds to the area. Dinner and overnight will be in Skala Kalloni.

Eighth day (Kalloni - Ayiassos, 43 km): Our day starts by riding past the salt pans and if we're lucky, we can spot a group of flamingos or cranes! We are now on the road that goes along the gulf but exactly opposite the side we travelled yesterday. The scenery changes to thick pine tree forest which covers most of the central part of the island. We will stop at a beautiful spot where the Pessas Waterfalls are found and we will sit for a break in this lovely wooded area. Once we continue, we will have a difficult road ahead of us till we reach Ayiassos - it is positioned at a 500 meter altitude and considered an authentic mountain village. Aside from the interesting architecture found in the village, we will also see the old church of Panayia built in the 17th century with a very strong historical identity. We will have dinner and our overnight stay in the village after we explore it's lovely narrow sidestreets .

Ninth day (Ayiassos - Plomari 24 km): Our day will start by going through a rich chestnut forest on a steep road for the first 3-4 km. After that we go downhill on a rough road and we pass Megaloxori village. This side has a great panoramic view of the sea. Once we reach Plomari, we go to our hotel to relax for a short while before heading off to the ouzo museum and distillery Varvayianni and other surrounding distilleries. Plomari is known for being the ouzo capital of Lesvos, where most of the brands of ouzo come from. We'll also have time to go swimming and relax while having dinner accompanied by lots of ouzo!

Tenth day (Plomari - Pirgi 35 km): Today we spend the day enjoying the beautiful gulf of Yera. We'll  pass quaint villages with lovely architecture. Yera has it's history in industries so we will visit some old, stone leather and soap factories. We then follow the seaside road from Perama till Therma where we will stop to dip in the hot thermal spring pools. Nearby, we find our hotel in Pirgi and we spend the night there.

Eleventh day (Pirgi - Mytilini 30 km): This is our last biking day and we'll have very nice route as we pass olive tree groves to pine tree forests. We'll stop for a short break to enjoy the view at a small gulf Ayios Ermoyenis, with it's lovely crystal clear water. From here, we ascend up a sloped route towards Mytilini where we bike around the base of the mountain. We reach Mytilini where we go to our hotel. The rest of the day is free time that can be spent either having your last swim, exploring the town or shopping for souvenirs!

Twelfth day (departure day): After breakfast we get ready for our departure.
